About the project
This is a single new house on Birmingham Road in Lichfield: a two storey, four bedroom detached home.
We handled the compliance package from start to finish. That covered building control, a 10 year structural warranty and the Phase 1 desk study, plus SAP calculations, an overheating assessment, water calculations and EPCs. Air tightness and ventilation testing, solar PV and cavity wall insulation completed the list.
Foundations went in during January 2023, 0.6m wide and up to 1.5m deep through sand onto sandstone, which gave good bearing. By February the substructure blockwork was done and the block and beam floor was in, with a 300mm void beneath and a 150mm cavity formed. From there the house went through first fix to a finished kitchen, insulated loft and completed external works.
