Lizzie – Our Little Site Inspector

Lizzie – Our Little Site Inspector
12/02/2011 – 05/05/2025

From the moment she could walk, Lizzie was out with us –
In the Car, on the tools, riding along to site visits and key stage inspections.
She wasn’t just our dog – she was part of the team.
A real little site inspector.

She grew up checking pipe bedding, pea gravel, and foundations –
Sniffing out defects before we even spotted them.
People loved her wherever she went.
She made friends on every street, plot, and scaffold.

She rode up front like the boss she was –
And outlasted more motors than most builders we know.
A faithful old Volvo, a loyal Volkswagen,
And even a good old Rover 75 – she saw them all come and go.
But Lizzie? Still riding along, still ready for work.

She was proper construction through and through.
Earned her own hi-vis jacket – gifted by a builder who saw her commitment –
“Site Inspector Lizzie.”
She wore it proudly, tail high, like the site was hers.

Steel toe boots? We tried.
But no one made them tough enough in her size.
Didn’t matter – Lizzie was already tougher than nails.

She wasn’t too keen on Paslode nail guns or little fires, mind you.
And any other dogs on site? She was on full inspection mode.
“This is my patch,” her eyes would say – and everyone knew it.

She once gave us a right scare in Market Bosworth –
A fire crackled, she got spooked, and somehow wriggled through the heras fencing.
Ended up right in front of a big tractor with forks on the front.
We held our breath.
But Lizzie walked away fine – cool as you like.
She had nine lives and knew how to use them.

And she didn’t just work – she adventured.
She climbed Scafell Pike with her dad for charity,
And walked from Lyme Regis to Weymouth in just two days with the team.
No complaints, no drama – just wagging all the way.

She made the work lighter and the days brighter.
Clients, homeowners, trades – everyone loved Lizzie.
She brought joy, kept us on our toes,
And somehow always found the comfiest spot on site.

And who could forget her habit of “christening” new carpets?
Didn’t matter if it was a £1.5 million house –
If the carpet was thick and fluffy, Lizzie was trying it out.
Classic Lizzie – made us laugh every time.

She was our teammate, our road buddy, our site inspector.
A true friend to our family.
We’ll miss her more than we can ever say.

Thank you, Lizzie – for every mile, every wag, every site visit.
You gave us laughter, loyalty, and love.
We’ll remember you always,
And one day, we’ll meet again – van packed, boots on, ready to roll.

RIP Lizzie 🐾
