Yesterday we took part in the webinar and CPD event hosted by #cabe

Yesterday we took part in the webinar and CPD event hosted by #cabe which was relating to the latest Review of new Part L1A of the Building Regulations. It was a free event to take part in and we found it really useful and always good to be ahead of the changes. Thanks #CABE Jordan Sutton Andy Mitchell we found it really informative and will look our for future webinars you do.

Some key things I noted were:

1. External Wall U Values considerably lower

2. PV Requirements

3. Showers need to have waste water heat recovery

CHANGES COME INTO FORCE JUNE 2022

I would get your initial notices in with Building Control before this date for new build projects ensuring commencement on all plots to be able to develop under the current PART L1A.

Projects starting on site after June 2022 will have to be built to the new regulations.

I really wonder how wide cavities are going to end up being. #timberframe #passive the way forward.

Partial fill and cavity filled traditional constructions PIR or Wool will probably end up becoming a think of the past … who knows.

As we get to learn more about the new amendments to Part L I will keep you posted.

INTEGRAL GARAGES WILL BE THE IN THING FOR THESE NEW BUILD HOUSES IN THE FUTURE ! less GF space future-proofed to be converted to habitable but a loophole for reducing solar requirements ….. some houses and roof types probably won’t be able to accommodate such paneling for the KW requirements. maybe better solar panels that generate more KW/ph would be good / solar tiles???
